Look at this light at Broken Spoke Farm. Look at these bonds, locked in time. This is the work I love doing— stealing twenty minutes with a family, and making photos that will bring them back to this feeling— these bonds as they are now, these ages with all of their challenges and particularities— years from now. I understand that idealistic photos aren’t always what people want, but I think they really do have their place. I want kids to see that they are our heaven. I want parents to see that they’ve built something amazing. Life isn’t all perfect light and forehead kisses and ice cream, but moments that feel perfect can be our strength when life gets tough.
